Online forums are a technological tool that could even be described as ancient, and in some ways, making them the center of a community today is almost like going to work by horse-drawn carriage. Yet Compagnia del Tabacco is still alive and kicking, ready to amaze smokers with a unique global initiative.
For the community’s tenth anniversary, an initiative has just been announced that is already causing quite a stir in Italy and abroad.
The Pipa del Decennale (Ten-Year Pipe) will be the result of a collaboration between two leading Italian artisan manufacturers: Ardor and Radice.
As they explain on the forum, after a long design phase, «we chose two shapes typical of the artisans and which have been part of the history of the forum, and asked the artisans to create something that, as far as we know, is totally new in the history of PIPE SERIES: one artisan sketches his typical shape and has it finished by the other with a characteristic and exclusive finish».
You can see the result in the photos: the two pipes, a Totò Radice with Ardor’s Meteora finish and a Marlowe Ardor with Radice’s Underwood finish!
The MARLOWE, an iconic, classic, and super functional shape that combines practicality, comfort, and refinement. Designed in the 1980s by Dorelio Rovera for the great detective series, it is a Dublin pipe that is not overly tall but well structured, spacious, with an oval shank and a wide silver mouthpiece. It was already the star of the first pipe of the forum back in 2015.
The TOTÒ, Radice’s trademark, is perhaps their most sought-after and iconic shape in the history of the brand, starting with the generation of the great Luigi, who first worked on and perfected Castello’s 55, then took its essence and adapted it in his own way, with that pointed chin and proud line. A classic!
