In Normandy, in the plain of Pays d’Auge, stands the Château du Breuil castle, built between the 16th and 17th centuries and belonged to large families of the Norman nobility. The estate was purchased in 1954 by Philippe Bizouard, from a family that had always distilled Calvados. Classified as a historic monument, Château du Breuil, after being completely restored by its new owner, has seen the outbuildings, called “orangeries”, turn into real cellars, which today, for over three generations, have hosted Calvados for the of maturation.
Calvados Château du Breuil VSOP is bright, with a golden color. The aromas on the nose are frank, rather intense and rather complex. The bouquet is manifested with fruity hints of apples and toasted hints reminiscent of sugar cane. The entry into the mouth is rather intense, when tasted it is soft, fresh and rather savory. Calvados with body, rather balanced, with a medium-long taste-olfactory persistence.
Calvados Château du Breuil VSOP is the youngest product of the Château du Breuil. Perfect both as a meditation distillate and in pairing with dry pastries and medium structured cigars.
