The Distillery

Buffalo Trace Distillery is one of the oldest distilleries in the United States, was built in 1812 by Harrison Blanton. Over time it changed its name several times: from Old Fire Copper (O.F.C.) Distillery George T. Stagg Distillery. In 1992 the Sazerac Company purchased the distillery and in 1999 the iconic Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Buffalo Trace brand was born. The distillery also produces whiskey for other brands and today it is considered a reference point when it comes to Bourbon Whiskey.

The Whiskey

Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Buffalo Trace promises to be clear, with an amber color. The aromas are frank and rather intense on the nose. The bouquet offers sweet notes that recall vanilla, coconut, caramel surrounded by hints of oak and toasted almond. The entry into the mouth is rather intense, of medium softness and freshness. Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Buffalo Trace is a medium-bodied whiskey with medium-long and rather balanced taste-olfactory persistence.

Food in pairing: Second courses based on grilled meat and game with accompanying sauces. Excellent with sweet rolls and chocolate.

Cigars in pairing: A.J. Fernandez Last Call Habano Geniales, Alec Bradley Post Embargo, Ambasciator Italico Superiore

Conclusions

Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Buffalo Trace is a product that represents an important part of the history of the American Bourbon with an excellent quality / price ratio. Perfect in mixing, as a meditation distillate or in combination with structured meats, desserts and medium structured cigars.
